U.S. and British Militaries Launch Second Round of Strikes on Houthi Targets in Yemen
On Monday, the U.S. and British militaries launched a second round of strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen, supported by Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands.
The operation aimed to degrade Houthi capabilities for attacking international vessels in the Red Sea, Bab Al-Mandeb Strait, and the Gulf of Aden.
Targeting missile systems, air defense, radars, and weapons storage, the strikes respond to Houthi attacks on ships. The U.S. Central Command emphasized preventing unlawful assaults on U.S. and U.K. ships and international commercial shipping. Last week, the U.S. redesignated the Houthis as a terrorist organization after an earlier removal to facilitate aid flow into Yemen.
